OVERVIEW

Level Two Ski Touring was developed as an intermediate course in the art of ski touring. Students will use their Level One Avalanche knowledge and their gained experience from 7 independent ski tours as Wasa Mountain Guides offer up high quality instruction and coaching over three days and one night.

Students will be Exposed to a variety of terrain, ski touring techniques and taking an in-depth and advanced look at the mountain snowpack.

Prerequisite: Level 1 Avalanche + 7 Ski Tours

COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE:

• Staying fit for the alpine
• Up tracking
• Ski descent clinics
• Hazard Evaluation
• Terrain Assessment
• WASA Avalanche 2 - The mountain snowpack,
• Moving with Flow - A how to in keeping flow through out your day in the backcountry
• Intro to Glaciated travel - Knot and rope configuration.
