The backcountry around the Whistler/Blackcomb area have a similar resemblance to the Mountains of the French/Italian Alps. Big couloirs and glacial ice faces litter this area which also includes Garibaldi Provincial Park. The massive Alpine ski runs and solid steeps are what this place is all about. Annual snowfall amounts range up to 10 meters per year! This is the place for deep snow and steep skiing. Because of the close proximity to the ocean, avalanche conditions improve quickly soon after snowstorms cake these mountains. Giving WASA the opportunity to provide an excellent steep experience. |
